Heeellloooo, Kansas City!

My name is Katie and I own Sunshine DIY Studio. 

My whole life I have been an artist. Literally, my whole life. My favorite show when I was 4 was Martha Stewart. I make it all, you can actually see all my creations for sale in the studio. 

So when I finally decided to open an art studio of my own, nobody who knew me was surprised. 

I wanted to have a space that was open to everyone to explore their creative side. I felt like a lot of other diy art studios had become too commercialized.  They focused on the blank canvas aspect. 

I wanted people to come into my space and immediately feel inspired. There's color on the walls. Most of my projects are open ended, so you have full creative freedom, I just give you the supplies. It's the adult version of unstructured play.

I am also the only diy studio in KC that offers tie dye all the time! What a neat thing, to be the only one of something in a city so vast. And who doesn't love tie dye? All ages and skill levels are able to do it because no matter what you do, it ends up great. 

I came from a wild background- teen mom to beauty school dropout to self-made entrepreneur. I am literally living my dream. When you come make art with me you are supporting someone who's just a girl trying to make this all come true.
